We are urgently seeking a seasoned Payroll Administrator with solid hands-on experience in ADP Workforce Now (ADP WFN) to join our team in Torrance. This is a critical role with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Sr. Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing multi-state payroll, maintaining compliance with labor laws, managing benefit deductions, and supporting onboarding efforts. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, works with a high degree of accuracy, and communicates effectively across departments.
Payroll Processing: Manage payroll for hourly, salaried, and 1099 employees across multiple states.
Timesheet Review: Ensure timesheet accuracy and compliance with wage and hour laws.
Resolve Discrepancies: Identify and correct payroll issues in a timely manner.
Benefits Administration: Process benefit deductions accurately and in compliance with policies.
Employee Onboarding: Set up payroll and benefit information for new hires in coordination with HR.
Payroll Reporting: Prepare accurate payroll reports for month-end and year-end processing.
Systems Management: Use ADP WFN, Asure Payroll, NOVAtime, and QuickBooks to maintain payroll data.
Policy Enforcement: Ensure consistent adherence to payroll and benefits policies.
Collaboration: Liaise with HR, employees, and leadership to address and resolve payroll-related matters.
Systems Knowledge: ADP WFN, Asure Payroll, NOVAtime, QuickBooks
Multi-State Payroll: Strong knowledge of state/federal compliance
Financial Acumen: Understanding of AP/AR, trust accounts, and benefit deductions
HR Collaboration: Experience with onboarding and HR/payroll integration
Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint); comfortable in both Windows & Mac OS
Experience: 5+ years in payroll administration with a focus on multi-state processing
Systems: Advanced experience in ADP Workforce Now
Knowledge: Strong grasp of payroll laws and compliance standards
Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Professionalism: High degree of confidentiality and discretion
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (preferred)
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) – a plus, but not required
