Machinist

Hours : 5 am – 1:30 pm with possible OT
Pay: $25- $35
Job duties:
- Review and receive daily job assignments
- Must have 3- 5 years Machine Shop experience
- Set up and operate machines such as Conventional lathes, mills, presses and other manual machine equipment to fabricate and repair parts.
- Operates grinders and Blanchard grinder
- Blue print reading
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to check tolerances, and to ensure the finished product meets the specifications called out in sketches, blueprints, work orders or samples.
- Replace dull cutting tools.
- Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
- Operate cranes, lifts, and mobile equipment as required.
Requirements:
- Must have the knowledge, skills and ability to operate Conventional lathe/mills, drill press, surface grinders including Blanchard grinder.
- Able to utilize overhead cranes, jacks, wedges, cables, rope and chain blocks, etc for lifting heavy parts.
- Must possess knowledge of safe rigging and lifting practices.
- Able to make left-hand and right-hand threads.
- Must have understanding of machines to perform and necessary periodic maintenance and equipment repairs when necessary.
- Able to be forklift certified.
- Must posses a valid Driver’s License and have a good driving record
Physical:
- Will need to lift 10-75 pounds, occasionally to the height of 4 feet and/or carrying 10 feet.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions.
- Will be standing/walking throughout shift.
Safety:
- Must wear uniform and steel toed shoes at all times
- Wear back brace, dust mask, safety glasses and gloves when necessary
- Know and follow all safety procedures for each machine or tool used
- Attend all safety training meetings
- Must address safety issues at work station immediately to supervisor
- Must report accidents and injuries within 24 hours to management
- Must follow all safety requirements and training at all times
