Industry and what does the company do?  Terminal and Transport company based in Los Angeles is seeking a Customer Service Representative!

Job Title:  Customer Service Representative

Schedule: Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (plus OT and Saturdays)

Location:  Bell Gardens

Pay: $18.00 to $22.00 (depending on work experience) / Job Class: Tempt-to-Hire

Description:

The Customer Service Representative receives and processes customer orders by performing the following duties:  

  • Process orders and faxes to appropriate carriers
  • Check external customer computers/SAP systems several times a day for any new orders
  • Print outbound shipments from customer computers/SAP systems & enter inventory deductions into SAP (when applicable)
  • Daily maintenance of customer account inventories
  • Scale all trucks in and out and ensure that all information on ticket is accurate and complete based on customer order request
  • Confirm that driver picking up a load is given the proper paperwork
  • Inform Office Manager and Yard Supervisor of all same-day orders and/or cancellations of any loads
  • Communicate and follow up with customers on all issues relating to their orders in a professional and timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office & Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of SAP helpful
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions and write simple correspondence
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Possess excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed and understand that shift schedules may change
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years experience working and/or training in customer service in the chemical industry helpful; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Pass background and drug screen
