Position Tittle:Quality Control Chemist

Working Hours:1st shift (8am-5pm)


Working Days:
Monday through Friday plus OT


Pay Range:$20/Hr. to $28/Hr. DOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Assist Technical Director in modifying quality control specifications on raw materials and finished products.

Perform quality control tests required on incoming raw materials for Titan Terminal and Transport.

Perform quality control tests on finished goods, including adjusting batches as required.

Perform lab equipment calibrations in a timely manner.

Test Hazardous Waste and returned goods as requested by Technical Director.

Provide dye solutions to plant for production.

Dispose of and/or retain samples on a regular basis following required regulations.

Prepare Certificates of Analysis as required by Titan Terminal and Titan’s customers.

Prepare standard reagent solutions as required by the test methods

Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Possess good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadliness with minimal supervision.

Possess excellent written/oral communication skills.

Possess proficient skill level of Microsoft Office.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, including upper management.

Ability to operate the following laboratory equipment: fine balances, Brookfield viscosity meter, Constant Temperature bath, kinetic viscosity measuring equipment, density meter, Karl-Fisher moisture tester, infrared spectroscope, laboratory mixers, Aqua Tester color tester (Orbeco-Hellige), pH meter (Accumet Basic), burettes, pipets and other glassware to perform wet chemistry analyses, portable data logging spectrophotometer (Hach) and centrifuge (SmithKline Beecham).

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to read and interpret job related documents.

Must meet PFT requirements to wear a respirator and cannot have any facial hair that may interfere with a respirator.

Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.S) from four-year College or University required two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and experience.
