Job Description
Growing manufacturing company is expanding and has immediate need for Facilities Maintenance Boiler Operator needed on 2nd shift in Santa Fe Springs! This is a direct hire/permanent position with great benefits, NOT a temp job.

  • Efficiently operates and maintains boilers, refrigeration, hydraulic, wastewater, water recirculation, cooling towers,and compressedair, gas and steam systems in a good and constantoperatingcondition.
  • Recordsutilities meter readings, issues, completed activities and important information in the log book.

  • Maintains emergency generator andregularlycompletes emergency generator log.

  • Operates, lubricates, inspects and maintains utilities pumpsin good condition.

  • Starts production and facility equipment fordailyplantproductionstartup.

  • Knowledge about chemical dosages, their application,and responsible for keeping an updated chemical usage log.

  • Operates sewage treatment to be within prescribed limitations.

  • Inspectsand maintainswater discharge meters, and overseesmaintenance of readings.

  • Knowledge in state and federal regulations for operation of utilities equipment.

  • Properly lubricates equipment, bearings and gearboxes.

  • Promptlyattends toa breakdown or malfunction.

  • May do some pipe fitting and welding for various metals and materials.

  • Maintaining equipment parts, tools, oil/grease barrels clean, orderly andstoredin the rightlocations.

  • Installs new equipment as required.

  • Works closely with Parts Clerk to confirm all critical and spare parts for the equipment are readily available.

  • Must be able to lift or moveup to 50 lbs.
  • High School graduate or equivalent; technical school preferred.
  • Ability to read/write/speak and comprehend English .
  • 3-5 +years’ experience operating and maintaining boilers, refrigeration, ammonia, water, cooling towers, waste water, compressed air, gas and steam systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and correcting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Knowledgeable about metric and standard fasteners, bearings, gears, gearboxes, and sprockets.
  • Proficient at reading blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Some knowledge of analog and digital instrumentation and control systems preferred.
  • Proficient in tool selection for each job, and measuring with tape measure and calipers.
  • Experience in fabrication, knowledge of metals and welding a plus. Ability to thread and bend pipe a plus.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct Supervision.
  • Ability to use computers (Excel, Word and Outlook). Experience with Preventative Maintenance Databases and Software (i.e. SAP) a plus.
  • Unlimited Steam Engineer license is a plus but not required

Hours: Monday-Thursday 4pm to 2am with a Maintenance Day sometimes on Fridays

Salary range:$28-32 per hour depending on experience
