Job Description
Growing machine shop in Santa Ana is expanding and has opening for a entry level CNC Lathe Operator.
 
Position available on 1st shift.

1st shift hours  6:00 AM – 2:30 PM


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Load the correct fixtures/ jaws into a machine using set up sheet for guidance and check that they are true
  • Select the correct tools by using a tool list for guidance
  • Install and touch off all tools for their geometry and work offset
  • Select the correct inspection tools when ready to check the part
  • If necessary, verify a program while running the first part to ensure that the program is a good program – (using the machine controls, i.e. rapid override, single block, etc.)
  • Check the first article on the machine during the first part, and bring the part into spec without scrapping
  • Trouble shoot or correct programs to ensure accuracy of both the geometry and the cycle times
  • Update and maintain paperwork regarding fixture or tool specifications
  • Run out the job if necessary and prepare for the next job
  • Fill out paperwork regarding inspection, time sheets, travelers, as necessary

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a solid CNC lathe operator (experienced in both CNC Lathes & Mills)
  • 1-2+ years’ experience in a machine shop environment, to include a progression from running cnc machines to advancing to a set up person
  • Mori seki experience is a plus, but not required
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed 
  • Must be able to work occasional Saturday hours as needed
