Job Description

Growing company near Ontario Mills now hiring experienced HR/Payroll Supervisor to join their fast paced team! In this important role you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of the payroll and oversight of day to day Human Resources tasks. Will prepare timely payroll reconciliations and will look for ways to continuously improve internal processes. Will perform regular audits to ensure that payroll accuracy is maintained. Using custom reports, dashboards, and third-party data, will identify, document and implement process improvements. This role will provide technical expertise to the Payroll team and may be asked to lead technology projects such as timekeeping and payroll system upgrades. Will possess expert analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee full cycle payroll processing in accordance with Federal and State Wage and Hour laws
  • Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll requests and issues related to processing
  • Oversee and ensure payroll deadlines are met according to internal procedures
  • Serve as subject matter expert on payroll processing procedures
  • Balance the payroll by performing necessary audits and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Audit and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounting. Analyze complex payroll system calculations. Resolve issues with a sense of urgency
  • Coordinate day to day execution of payroll tasks, enforce proper procedures are followed
  • Develop and execute reports/queries as needed
  • Coordinate with third party payroll vendor to update earnings/deduction codes
  • Stay up to date on federal and state payroll requirements
  • Support team by maintaining positive working relationships across organization
  • Perform required testing of payroll and Time and Attendance systems. Maintain system configuration
  • Escalate issues to internal and external vendors to resolve payroll issues; partner with third party providers as necessary
  • Lead Year-End processing. Implement audits to ensure accuracy of year end documents


  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 4 +years experience in field or in the analysis and administration of payroll programs
    • 4 +years in managing projects

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 6 + years – Experience in Field or analysis and administration of payroll programs
    • 6+ years – Experience managing projects
    • Advanced Excel skills


  • Bachelor's Degree required
