Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Logistics for our Imports from Asia and liaise with our Customs Brokers.
  • Follow up and reporting regarding Imports/Exports and make recommendations for Cost Reduction.
  • Liaise with our planners, other departments and third party suppliers to optimize pick-ups and delivery of finished goods and raw materials operations.
  • Review processes that help the Manufacturing plants in transportation cost savings.
  • Recommend changes to achieve additional efficiencies.
  • Assist in auditing freight payables for accuracy against contracted rates and
  • Support companies Private Fleet for customer deliveries and raw materials pick-ups.
  • Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone.
  • Ability to use JD Edwards TMS and MS Office Suite
  • Support Portland Office with import and export processes .
  • Import claims – processing, submitting and monitoring all claim related to imports.
  • Responsible for the importation of Yakisoba and Chow Mein from China. Liaise with our customs brokers and other Logistics Suppliers to secure prompt delivery into the assigned distribution centers.
  • Lead monthly Aging Inventory purging process along with the Sales / Marketing Teams to propose alternatives like Donating, Selling in 2nd Market or Disposing of the inventory after SC VP’s approval.
  • Oversee CHEP inventory reconciliations for all DC’s and make adjustments once verified on their CHEP website

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in Supply Chain management, Business, Finance and/or Logistics. In lieu of degree, 5 or more years of equivalent experience will be accepted.
  • Experience with TMS/WMS preferred.
  • Experience using Supply Chain systems, tools and applications preferred
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for results
  • Detail oriented and self-starter
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data Base applications
  • Ability to generate queries and organize data
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline type setting.
