Job Description

Well established company located in National City, CA is looking for a bilingual Assistant Construction Yard Manager to join their team.
This is a permanent position with great benefits and is a great chance to be a part of a long standing company.This important position will be working in a busy office and warehouse environment to keep things running smoothly.If you are a multi-tasker and like to help others this may be the perfect position for you! Hours:

Day shift position typically starting at 5:45am and working until around 3:30pm (depending on business needs)
Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays for inventory needs.


Will work closely with the Yard Manager to coordinate and assist employees engaged in loading, transferring, and operating equipment in the distribution yard.Position will involve multi-tasking and strong analytical skills.

Duties:

  • Assists the yard manager with opportunities for improving net profit

  • Maintains key relationships with customers to make sure their needs are met

  • Assists with negotiating pricing to customers and communicates with new customers

  • Ensures that accurate pricing is set

  • Reaches out to new customers and follows up on sales leads

  • Helps with post stock audit program and communicates results to customers

  • Resolves customer complaints about stocking and product quality

  • Negotiate with vendors, orders board and materials within general company purchasing guidelines

  • Keeps balanced inventory levels in yard and controls shrinkage

  • Assists with accurate order input and confirms sales orders, job information and reports that support sales order entry process

  • Confirms that yard staffing levels meet delivery needs

  • Assists with proper maintenance and equipment protection program

  • Participates in monthly meetings to ensure everything is going as planed

  • Makes sure that yard safety procedures are being followed

  • Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive

  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • 3+years of related work experience

  • Prior experience in warehouse operational tasks

  • Basic computer and reporting skills

  • Must be able to communicate with employees and management and be able to exchange accurate information

  • Able to identify safety and maintenanceissues as they occur

  • Must be able to work long hours if needed

Salary:

$70,000-$90,000/yr. depending on experience
