Growing Food Manufacturing company needs a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic in La Mirada.
Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 11pm
The position will repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing machinery
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for repairs to the physical plant and all related equipment. Assures that all machine tool repairs are within manufacturers guidelines.
Record keeping of equipment and process’ of preventative and scheduled maintenance. Records repairs, downtime and maintenance performed.
Confers with operators and observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
Disassembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Repairs, replaces, adjusts and aligns components of machinery and equipment.
Fabricates replacement parts. Welds to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
Use electrical test equipment.
Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery.
Work under pressure to handle significant problems and tasks which come up simultaneously and/or unexpectedly, approaching deadlines, etc.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 3 years experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair.
Position Qualifications and Criteria:
Must be able to work under minimum supervision and be self-motivated.
Experience with refrigeration systems.
Knowledge on pallet jack, forklift, electricity a/c d/c power is a major plus
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Electrical construction and maintenance practices.
Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of production machinery.
Must be able to PM's and shutdowns on machinery.
Must be willing to work in hot conditions.
Must have own tools.
Be able to verify efficiency of abilities as well as industry, type and model of equipment knowledge.
Familiarity and knowledge with Work Order Control procedures.
