ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Welds or tack-welds overlapping edges of positioned components to fabricate sheet metal assemblies
Positions clamps electrode under overlapping edges of workpiece.
Presses electrode against workpiece at specified weld points to complete circuit between electrodes heat metal to joining temperature.
Removes electrode after specified period of time.
Adjusts equipment for automatic timing of current.
Attend group trainingto learn new or modified tasks.
Examines welded components to detect defects.
Maintains proper housekeeping in and around machine/work area
Abides by all company policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook, policy manuals, work
instructions, bulletins and dated memos.
Other duties as assigned.
Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Able to comprehend and act on information presented in-group settings such as training sessions or meetings involving all personnel in their department, job class and/or plant meetings.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training as a spot welder or equivalent combination of education and experience.
