Job Description
Department: Quality Assurance
Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Pay Range from $20-$27

• Performing inspections as required for the assigned area(s).
• Measuring product dimensions using gauges and visual inspection systems.
• Measuring mechanical properties using mechanical test equipment.
• Managing workflow and resources as required for the assigned area(s).
• Reporting nonconforming material.
• Interpreting and adhering to internal procedures, industry standards, part drawings, and other design/process control documents.
• Creating and auditing quality records with good documentation practice.
• Creating discrepant material reports (DMRs).
• Support the Quality Assurance Supervisor with various quality projects and studies.
• Occasionally, the incumbent will be asked and expected to perform various, miscellaneous, and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in nature and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the company.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Necessary to Successfully Perform this Position:
• Intermediate computer skills (i.e. network, intranet, internet navigation).
• Intermediate software knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. email, calendar, creating tables, graphs, performing calculations, using plug-ins).
• Ability to learn and navigate custom/specialized software.
• Ability to comprehend written instructions with industry-specific terms and technical concepts.
• Familiarity with inspection plans.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC).
• Ability to use manual gauges (e.g. micrometers, calipers, scales).
• General knowledge of visual inspection systems (i.e. Smartscope).
• Ability to use mechanical test equipment (e.g. Chatillon force tester, United tensile tester, surface profilometer).
• Basic understanding of a QMS based on ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Basic understanding of statistical methods (AQL, mean, variation, control charts, histograms).
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English (required).
• Ability to speak Spanish (desired).
