Applies modern quality principles, concepts, and methods including Lean manufacturingand Six Sigma to reduce cost and ensure the quality of products and services
Oversee the Material Review Board to ensure that products meet specifications and performance standards
Manage the non-conformance issues, and escalate needs as appropriate, and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) efforts to quantify and reduce risk
Collaborate with the Machine Shop and Final Assembly/Test personnel to resolve technical issues and provide inspection training as needed
Review Engineering Change Requests/Orders and new drawings for quality compliance.
Administer Calibration requirements and gage control
Prepare FAIR form 3 as required.
Provide training on processes and work instructions for inspectors
Analyze returned switches and implement corrective actions as necessary
Coordinate with customers on product quality issues, escapes, and development of corrective actions
Perform Quality process audits, including planning, preparing, executing, reporting results, and follow-up
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Must have one of the following: Bachelors Degree and 4+ years relevant experience OR aMastersDegree and 2 years of experience OR if nodegree, 7 + years of relevant experience.
In-depth understanding of the manufacturing methods, materials, testing, qualification, and quality issues involved in aerospace production
Strong, working knowledge of GD&T standards and engineering drawings
High level of analytical ability to identify the definition and resolution of complex problems
RCCA, Process Mapping, FMEAs, and Control Plans or APQP/PPAP knowledge preferred
