Job Description

Now hiring experienced 3 Cutter (RUBBER MOLD) near Ontario Airport.


This position would work our alternative workweek of 9/80. 

  • They would start at the $12.25 rate while they are on the a.m. shift and then transitioned over. 


PURPOSE (Brief, concise statement of expected results: the reason the position exists):

The Cutter, through work orders and supervisor direction, cuts and trims excess material or cut threads off various Life Support Assemblies and sub-assemblies using knives, scissors, and other hand tools, portable power tools, or bench-mounted tools. The Cutter also cleans, treats, buffs, or polishes finished items.

EXPERIENCE:

1 - 2 years experience in a production environment or equivalent preferred.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (These are things the candidate should possess prior to being hired, i.e., computer skills):

·         Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.

·         Knowledge of various hand tools, including their uses, and maintenance.

·         Understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

·         Verbally able to convey information effectively.

·         Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a positive professional demeanor.

·         Work order and blueprint reading skills required.

·         Ability to work in a comprehensive team environment.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (List the essential functions of the position, i.e., what incumbent is required to do, not how it is done): 

·         Cuts and trims excess material or cut threads off various Life Support Assemblies and sub-assemblies.

·         Cuts, shapes, and trims materials, using knives, scissors, and other hand tools, portable power tools, or bench-mounted tools.

·         Cleans, treats, buffs, or polishes finished items, using grinders, brushes, chisels, and cleaning solutions and polishing materials

·          Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality.

·         Completes other duties as directed by Department Supervisor.

Job Description

Seeking a Press Operator

Sets up and controls operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of rubber molding products.  Operations consist of loading specific amounts of rubber in a mold, loading and removing inserts, operating the press to cure the part at a specified time and temperature, and removing the part when the cycle is completed. 

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or equivalent. Vocational training preferred but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years rubber molding experience in a production environment or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (These are things the candidate should possess prior to being hired, i.e., computer skills):

·         Analytical/Problem solving skills

·         Production Processes (Rubber Molding, Milling, etc.)

·         Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills

·         Oral and written Communication skills

·         Good manual dexterity

·         Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously and efficiently

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (List the essential functions of the position, i.e., what incumbent is required to do, not how it is done): 

·         Operates and maintains all rubber molding equipment

·         Performs minor part clean up such as removal of sprues, flash, etc.

·         Reads shop orders to determine press adjustments, process and material requirements to complete job

·         Observes press operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction

·         Performs all job duties in accordance with published procedures

·         Completes other duties as directed by the Rubber Mold Supervisor
