Job Description
A leader of aircraft interior products is currently seeking a Lead Designer to join their team! This is a great opportunity to apply your skill set and and experience with a highly reputable company.

Lead Designer
1st Shift: 5:45 AM - 3:15 PM
Pay: Up to $40.00 an hour DOE


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine design tasks requiring the operation and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment. 

  • Given verbal instructions or written documentation, incorporates changes to advanced engineering and engineering change orders. 

  • Revise new engineering design sketches, blueprints and production drawings both manually and with the use of computer aided software; complete parts listings and specify material list. 

  • Determines scales, performs routine calculations following well documented and established specifications and design rules. 

  • Maintaining technical coordination and aesthetic control with Engineering and other industrial design staff members. 

  • Perform other related duties as required. 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school

  • 7 years minimum of drafting/designing experience  

  • Proficient in detailed models and drawings in AutoCAD and various other Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools (version NX 8.5 or better)

  • Proficient in creating 3D models (3D modeling)

  • Ability to create both, mechanical and electrical drawings

  • Experience with GD&T

  • Proficient in drafting standards (ANSI/ASME Y14.4)

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

  • Experience in leading and developing new concepts with emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability

  • Sheet metal modeling and aerospace industry experience not required, but considered a plus!
